Chimney Pots, Cowls & Bird Guards – Installation and Replacement
There are many different types of terminals for your chimney, having the incorrect one can cause unnecessary risk to your home. If you are unsure of which one is right for you, we can advise you on the issues you are currently facing and the best way to deal with them going forward. Without the correct terminal for your chimney, this can cause a fire and carbon monoxide risk due to the excess soot, debris and buildup of materials being lodged in your flue.

Chimney pots
Chimney pots help improve the updraught and helps prevent downdraughts when in use, so play an important role when lighting a fire. If your pot is cracked, worn, the wrong size or fitted incorrectly, this can make a significant difference and will need to be replaced. Another common area which may need attention is the cement bedding which may be cracked and will create a leakage point for water. We can rebed and reflaunch chimney pots.
Capping
If your chimney is unused or not in operation, we would recommend installing a cap. This will prevent any rain, birds and other debris from entering your chimney. Installing a cap would also prevent any downdrafts plus your well-earned heat escaping back out.
Cowls and bird guards
For a working chimney, if you have excessive rain ingress or a reoccurring problem with nesting birds, we can install bird guards or cowls to protect your chimney from unwanted water and/or living species entering your home.
